Access to Personal Information Rand Water has complied with the provisions of Promotion of Access to Information Act, No. 2 of 2000 (as amended) (PAIA) and Protection of Personal Information Act, No. 4 of 2013 (POPIA). In the financial year 2024/25, we submitted Section 32 Report for Rand Water and all its subsidiaries to the Information Regulator. The implementation of Data Privacy and Information Classification Procedure was initiated resulting in five (5) employee awareness sessions and two (2) training sessions, one (1) PAIA and one (1) POPIA, conducted by the Information Regulator for all Rand Water Compliance Officers. The review of Data Protection and Privacy Policy has also been initiated in line with Rand Water Policy Development Framework to ensure that it is current and still serves the purpose. During the year under review, Rand Water has concluded its investigation into the digital solution for the implementation of data classification. The outcome of the investigation will be focused on the risk assessment of the data across all repositories in the new financial year 2025/26. The table below are the requests of both POPIA and PAIA, made in terms of Section 25 of POPIA and Section 18 of PAIA respectively and submitted to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
