SOCIAL AND RELATIONSHIP CAPITAL For Rand Water, social and relationship capital is embodied in the partnerships and trust established with customers, communities, regulators, suppliers, and employees. By engaging openly and consistently, the organisation not only ensures the reliable provision of services but also strengthens its social license to operate. Social and Relationship Capital is therefore central to sustaining mutually beneficial relationships, driving development outcomes, and supporting inclusive growth.

Rand Water’s key stakeholders encompass a broad spectrum, including our Shareholder, the National, Provincial, and Local Government, employees, customers, business partners, the investor community, financial institutions, credit rating agencies, civil society organisations, and the communities within which we operate. To ensure structured and meaningful engagement, the Proactive Stakeholder Engagement Strategy was developed. This strategy serves as a guiding framework for all stakeholder interactions, with each engagement assessed against its defined objectives. During the financial year under review, Rand Water has created value through strategic and purposeful engagement with these stakeholders.
