A total of nine (9) graduates reached professional registration during the 2024/25 financial year. Our alumni now lead in municipal and sector roles, living proof of our impact on South Africa’s skills pipeline. Enterprise Supplier Development Programme Rand Water remains committed to supporting South Africa’s economic transformation by aligning its Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) efforts with national priorities that drive socio-economic progress. Through its ESD Programme, the organisation aims to empower black-owned enterprises through targeted short-course training and to enhance the performance and sustainability of emerging suppliers. These initiatives contribute to economic growth, job creation, and improved B-BBEE scorecard outcomes. 2024/25 financial year saw three (3) accredited training programmes implemented, successfully training 189 delegates (up from 145 delegates in 2023/24). This reflects meaningful progress towards supplier capacity-building and enterprise development objectives.

A key milestone was the successful hosting of Rand Water’s inaugural Supplier Day on 11 June 2025, in partnership with the Supply Chain Management Enterprise Development Team. Highlights included expert sessions on the new Public Procurement Act, supply chain financing, and practical guidance on systems such as the Central Supplier Database and Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) grading. The event showcased Rand Water’s commitment to enabling inclusive supplier participation and fostering a resilient, transformed supply chain. Wetskills Challenge Participation Two (2) Rand Water Young Professionals participated in the Wetskills Challenge hosted in Mozambique from 13 to 25 July 2024. World Water Academy Ten Rand Water Employees attended an Interactive Online Course: Overview of Wastewater Treatment. Participated in the “Strong Women, Stronger Organisations” workshop that took place at the International Water Association (IWA) Conference in Cape Town, in March 2025. The workshop focused on the role of women in the water sector and aimed to foster gender inclusivity and empower women professionals.
