WELLBEING OF OUR PEOPLE The Rand Water Employee Health and Wellness programme is integrated into the overall Strategic Human Capital strategy and is aimed at assisting the organisation in achieving one of its strategic objectives of achieving high-performance culture. Employee wellness programmes are crucial for creating a thriving workplace by boosting employee morale, productivity, and overall wellbeing, while also reducing healthcare costs and improving employee retention. Interventions are implemented to mitigate the impact of personal or work-related challenges that may disrupt productivity. A review of the Employee wellness policies and procedures was conducted during the year. EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE INTERVENTIONS Employee Assistance interventions are designed to provide support to individual employees who are experiencing personal or work-related difficulties. Support offered to employees during the year: • Employee Wellness 24-hour support line: A 24-hour support line for Rand Water employees and their immediate dependants. • Stress and resilience management workshops: We rolled out stress management and resilience workshops to all employees. • Health and Wellness days: A total of 2754 employees were reached through Wellness Awareness days; 322 were referred to the treating doctors for further management. See graphical representation below. • Financial Wellness: A total of 16 workshops were facilitated with 932 employees reaching all sites. • Sports and Fitness: We use sports and fitness to improve employee physical, emotional, mental and social wellbeing. Our sporting codes range from athletics, netball, aerobics, spinning, soccer, cycling, hiking, golf and more. MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMMES Mental health challenges constitute significant concern within Rand Water and worldwide. Rand Water Employee Wellness programmes aim to create a supportive environment where employees feel valued and understood. Addressing this phenomenon has become a priority for us. We offer our employees support as part of Employee Assistance services in this regard. To raise mental health awareness, 13 roadshows were conducted.
