• Bursaries awarded to staff rose to 41 persons from previous financial year’s 25 individuals, resulting to a 64% increase. • Leadership trainings of 64 were fewer compared to last year. TECHNICAL CAREER PROGRESSION Rand Water employs Talent modelling as a strategic approach to attracting, developing, and retaining employees to meet current and future organisational needs. A key enabler of this strategy is our Technical Career Path (TCP), which continues to support the growth of specialised talent in science, engineering, and technology. By integrating TCP into our succession planning, we ensure that technical expertise is nurtured and retained, while also creating clear pathways for advancement. This year saw individuals from a wider range of technical areas progress than last year. This can be seen in the number of individual employees that progressed in the year under review, a total of 14 men and women to the previous financial year’s 6 employees; below is a graphical representation of 2024/25 financial year Technical Career Progression.

CORPORATE ONBOARDING At Rand Water, corporate onboarding is a strategic process designed to ensure that every new employee, feels welcomed, informed, and empowered from day one. The objectives of our onboarding process are to facilitate a meaningful employee experience, expedite their assimilation into Rand Water, and equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel, enhance productivity, and make valuable contributions towards their departmental goals. The onboarding journey begins with preboarding activities, continues through the employees’ first days and weeks, and culminates in their full integration into the organisation. This comprehensive approach supports a smooth transition and accelerates productivity, while reinforcing Rand Water’s values and culture.
