ATTRACTING AND RETAINING CRITICAL TALENT Our talent management stance is attracting, developing, motivating, and retaining employees with the skills and potential to meet Rand Water’s current and future needs. Talent management’s importance can be seen in our processes, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning, all aimed at creating a high performing and engaged workforce. Below table outlines 2024/25 financial year appointments by race and gender. Our approach goes beyond filling roles, it’s about developing a pipeline of agile, skilled, and future-ready talent. As part of our continuous improvement efforts, we reviewed and strengthened our succession planning framework during the year. This exercise included the following scope items: • Identifying critical roles and future capability needs aligned with our business strategy. » Assessing leadership potential and readiness through structured talent reviews and performance insights. » Accelerating development through targeted learning, mentorship, and stretch assignments that prepare individuals for future leadership and technical roles. • Capacity-Building interventions remain a deliberate internal focus for Rand Water; Compliance, Conferences and Functional training are at 7 330 training interventions completed in 2024/25 financial year. • Enhancing our employee’s abilities ensures we achieve our organisational goals while also sustaining the development of individuals on a broader level.
