On Records Digitisation Programme, 956 680 paper-based records generated were converted into digital format in line with the Rand Water Digital Transformation Strategy using an approved electronic records management system for correspondence records. On the Records Disposal Programme no correspondence records have been destroyed in the period under reporting. Only records other than Correspondence Records and are ephemeral/ transitory were destroyed in terms of General Disposal Authority No. AT2 , as issued by the National Archivist. We have created 1 592 078 records in the financial year 2024/25. All these records are active. 60 452 records are archived, 956 680 digitised and nine (9) destruction certificates were issued. Rand Water has also applied for Standing Disposal Authority from the National Archives and Records Service of South Africa (NARSSA) for our current records management system of correspondence records and the outcome will provide guidelines on the implementation in the new financial year 2025/26.
