Rand Water received and responded to 15 written media enquiries. Topics included: • Power failures at pumping stations • Water supply shortages • High consumption alerts • Water restriction levels • Safety protocols during maintenance • Sewer infrastructure upgrades in Emfuleni Local Municipality • Rising municipal debt Strategic media tours were organised to showcase operational activities and infrastructure projects, including: • Leeuwkuil and Sedibeng Wastewater Treatment Works • Emfuleni Local Municipality water projects • Infrastructure maintenance initiatives • Eikenhof Booster Pumping Station oversight visit Three (3) Public Notices were issued regarding the intention to reduce water supply to Victor Khanye, Merafong, and Rand West local municipalities. These notices, published in September 2024, April 2025, and June 2025, aimed to mitigate escalating municipal debt and were made available in six (6) official languages to ensure accessibility.
