ORGANISATION-WIDE CHANGE MANAGEMENT In a dynamic and unpredictable environment, Rand Water’s Organisation Design and Development (ODD) drives continuous transformation to support its strategic goals. By aligning with the Rand Water Strategy, ODD leads business reengineering initiatives and uses Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) analysis to optimise human capital deployment, improving overall efficiency and effectiveness. Currently, 26 business cases are progressing through the restructuring lifecycle, with the following distribution across key phases: 4% in Diagnosis, 19% in High-Level Design, 46% in Detailed Design, 4% in Implementation, and 27% in Monitoring and Evaluation. Productivity Management Rand Water continues to implement a streamlined model for conducting Mini Business Unit (MBU) reviews. This process included on-site assessments of all existing MBUs. Consistent, data-driven assessments have resulted in sustained year-on year productivity improvements across all MBUs. This progress culminated in Rand Water achieving Level 4 out of 5 on the World-Class Productivity Scale, a significant milestone that validates the effectiveness of our approach and contributions towards operational excellence.
