PART A: GENERAL INFORMATION

Through careful prioritisation, cost containment and transparent engagement with the Board, they ensured that essential functions continued uninterrupted while establishing measures to mitigate similar risks in the future. Their stewardship enabled the Council to remain focused on serving financial customers and supporting confidence in the ombud system. On behalf of the Board, I extend my sincere appreciation to the Chief Ombud, the executive management team and all employees of the Council for their professionalism and commitment throughout the year. I also thank my fellow Board members for their diligent oversight and constructive engagement and guidance.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge the valuable collaboration of our key stakeholders, including the financial sector ombud schemes, the Financial Sector Conduct Authority, the National Credit Regulator and the National Treasury. Their continued partnership strengthens the effectiveness of the ombud system and supports our shared objective of ensuring fair, accessible and effective dispute resolution in the interests of financial customers, while contributing to a stable and trusted financial ombud system.
