NAMES Since the inception of the Club various competitions were introduced to inspire a spirit of competitiveness, and motivate players to play at their optimum. The handicap system in golf ensures equal opportunity for all players, hence the many players that participate in these tournaments. Previously we had the Golfer of the Year and the Winners’ Tournament, of which the winners are listed below. The present tournament formats are the Match Play Competition and The Lotus Cup. THE LOTUS CUP To acknowledge the most consistent player through the season, the player with the highest points from the new format was awarded The Lotus Cup trophy being the most prestigious accolade. Winners to date: 2023 - 2024 - Preshan Chetty 2019 - 2020 - Preshan Chetty 2022 - 2023 - Preshan Chetty 2018 – 2019 - Perry Rungasamy 2021 - 2022 - No tournament played due to Covid 2017 – 2018 - Indran Naidoo 2020 - 2021 - No tournament played due to Covid MATCH PLAY COMPETITION The match play competition was introduced in 2011. The objective was primarily geared towards the more competitive players However, the competition was extended to all members who wished to compete. The format was based on a knock-out basis until a winner is declared. Winners to date: 2023 - 2024 - For this season the competition has resumed, however the competition has not been concluded yet. The results will be circulated once all matches are played and a winner is declared. 2022 - 2023 - No competition was played 2017 – 2018 – Indran Naidoo 2021 - 2022 - No competition was played due to Covid 2016 – 2017 – Surendra Mistry 2020 - 2021 - No competition was played due to Covid 2015 – 2016 – Jayendra Khoosal 2019 - 2020 - No competition was played 2014 – 2015 – Dayalan Chetty 2018 - 2019 - Puvan Padayachy
