A discriminatory employment pattern that keeps workers, mainly women, in the lower ranks of the job scale, with low mobility and invisible barriers to career advancement. Interests identified by women as a result of their subordinate social status, and tend to challenge gender divisions of labour, power and control, and traditionally defined norms and roles. What women or men require in order to improve their position or status in regard to each other by placing them in greater control of themselves instead of limiting them to the restrictions imposed by socially defined roles.
