4.2. Programme 2: Sector and Market Development 4.2.1. Purpose To facilitate and increase access to markets for SMMEs through business information, product development support and value chain integration. 4.2.2. Sub-programme and purpose % Sector and Market Development Management – To provide leadership to the branch and support entry and growth of SMMEs in prioritised and designated sectors of the economy. % Business Information and Knowledge Management – To provide evidence-based (economic analysis, econometrics, research) business information to direct sector thought leadership. % Ease of Doing Business – To reduce the administrative and regulatory burden of doing business for SMMEs. % Access to Market Support – To provide domestic and international market support services to SMMEs. 4.2.3. Institutional Outcomes % Increased participation of SMMEs and Co-operatives in domestic and international markets. % Scaled-Up and coordinated support for SMMEs, Co-operatives, Village and Township Economies. % Expanded access to financial and non-financial support and implemented responsive programmes to new and existing SMMEs and Co-operatives. % Reduced regulatory burdens for small enterprises.
