2. SAJEI TEAM

The SAJEI team comprises of the following officials as well as Judicial Officers:

k. Judicial Educators x 5 (4 Senior Magistrates and 1 Regional Magistrate) Note: Four Judicial Educators (Senior Magistrates) are placed at SAJEI for a period of five years, effective from 1 September 2016. 3. FUNCTIONS OF THE INSTITUTE

The functions of the Institute as listed in section 5 of the SAJEI Act (2008) are as follows:

3.1 To establish, develop, maintain and provide Judicial education and professional training for Judicial Officers.

3.2 To provide entry level education and training for aspiring Judicial Officers to enhance their suitability for appointment to Judicial office.

3.3 To conduct research into Judicial education, professional training and to liaise with other Judicial education and professional training institutions, persons and organisations in connection with the performance of its functions.

3.4 To render assistance to foreign Judicial institutions and courts as may be agreed upon by the Council.
