SACAA Annual Report 2022_23

PART A I General Information

INTRODUCTION It is my honour to join the Board in presenting the SACAA’s Annual Report for the 2022/23 financial year. This report provides an overview of the strategic and financial performance covering the period 1 April 2022 – 31 March 2023. It also signifies the end of the third year of delivery in the current five-year strategy under the 6 th Administration. I present this at a time when the recovery of the aviation sector is in full motion and when there are more passengers than had initially been forecasted following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. OVERVIEW

OF

THE

ORGANISATION’S

PERFORMANCE The 2022/23 financial year was a busy year for the SACAA, having gone through two major international safety and security audits by ICAO and finalising a safety assessment by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which had started in 2021. Not only did the State excel in the safety audits, but the State also did not attract any Significant Safety or Security Concerns in both audits and went on to retain the Category 1 status in the FAA assessment.
