The Board, as our accounting authority under the PFMA Act, provides strategic oversight and governance. Members are remunerated per policy, ensuring we attract and retain skilled leadership for sustainable oversight.

We serve a diverse base, including municipalities, mining, and railways, delivering 1,737,841 megalitres of water in 2025 (average 4,761 Ml/day). We maintained uninterrupted, high-quality supply, meeting all regulatory standards (SANS 241), thus supporting economic and social development. Shareholder (Department of Water and Sanitation)

As a state-owned entity, our shareholder is the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), which oversees sustainable water management. In 2025, Rand Water purchased R7.9 billion in raw water from DWS, highlighting our operational scale. Despite challenges, we achieved a 9% Return on Assets, supported by strong income margins and efficient asset use, ensuring continued financial sustainability and compliance with the PFMA Act.

Employees Our employees are central to our success. With a low turnover rate of 1.61%, we demonstrate strong staff retention. In 2025, we invested R3.9 billion in salaries and R155 million in training, offering a safe, supportive environment and performance-based incentives to align staff with organisational goals. Finance Providers We maintain strong relationships with external finance providers, managing long-term debt responsibly. In 2025, we paid R368 million in interest, honoring all commitments and maintaining investor confidence.
