Term deposit investments consist of financial instruments with an original maturity of greater than 3 months at acquisitions of investments such as fixed deposits, and Promissory Notes (PN). The Group reduced its exposure to term deposit investments to R0 million (2024: R2 763 million) and increased allocations to bonds and cash and cash equivalents. 13. Cash and cash equivalents

These include positive bank balances, cash on hand, call deposits, fixed deposits, notice deposits, Promissory Notes (PN), and investments in money market instruments held with financial institutions that have an investment-grade credit rating.
