VALUE ADDED STATEMENT Strengthening value for people, partnerships, and the future
For the financial year under review, Rand Water generated a wealth of R9.7 billion (2024: R9.3 billion). This value was allocated to sustain our people, invest in our systems, and meet growing demand through prudent, growth-oriented reinvestment. Key allocations Employees and related benefits: 41% (2024: 38%) of value added supported salaries, pension plans, medical cover, and associated employee programmes that attract and develop talent essential to reliable service delivery. Reinvestment in growth and assets: 55% (2024: 57%) of value added was channelled back into initiatives to expand capability, upgrade infrastructure, and pursue strategic projects that respond to rising demand and climate considerations. Community and social investment, suppliers, and other stakeholders: the remaining portion supported external partnerships, supplier development, and service delivery improvements that extend our reach and impact. Outlook and stakeholder value This balance reflects our commitment to fair remuneration, capital discipline, and sustainable growth. By investing in people and continuously renewing our asset base, Rand Water positions itself to meet current needs while building a resilient platform for the communities we serve. As we navigate evolving macro conditions, our value-creation model remains focused on sustaining the highest standards of governance, safety, and social responsibility, ensuring long-term value for employees, customers, and partners.
