MESSAGES PAST CHAIRMEN

Shantoo Ramjee Congratulations to LOTUS GOLF CLUB on achieving their 30 th anniversary milestone. We have all undergone many challenges, from Covid, to loadshedding, to a poor economic climate, but the Club has been steadfast. Tournaments and events are extremely well-run and it’s always a pleasure to participate. Being a founder chairman, I do indeed feel honoured and proud of the achievements of the Club from its humble beginnings. May the Club continue with its great success for the next three decades! Ravi Chiboo It is indeed a privilege and great pleasure to convey a message to Lotus Golf Club on its 30 th anniversary. As a founding member and chairperson of the club during its infancy, it is truly a blessing to see that even with passing of 30 years, the club is still in existence and going strong. What started out then as a group of enthusiastic individuals with an idea to form a social golf group, which was not common then, in a side room of Gandhi Hall to where it is now, is testament to its remarkable achievement. With the passage of time there is always a natural attrition of members due to natural causes but that is a fact of life. The idea of starting a social golf club was a fantastic idea. I would like to believe that it added value to lives of the members whilst they were there. Every member looked forward to those golf days (upward of one hundred participants sometimes). On a personal level I wish and fervently hope that the members have all the success and enjoyment for the next 30 years. With kindest regards and Namaste to all.

Arvind (Arie) Narsi Namaste.

It is with a deep sense of pride that I wish to congratulate the LOTUS GOLF CLUB on this very special milestone of the 30 th anniversary. Very happy to hear that many young golfers are joining our club. May we go from strength to strength. Congratulations to the hard-working committee members for the awesome work they are doing. Hope you keep the LOTUS flag flying higher for many more years ahead. Thank you

Surendra (Surie) Mistry My experience with Lotus Golf Club started in 1994 and is be an enduring one. Being a member on the executive of this club, afforded me an opportunity to make many friends and associates. Acquaintances were made at different golf clubs during my 21 years as an executive member and these were nurtured and became lasting friendships. Members past and present must be proud of Lotus Golf Club reaching 30 years which is an achievement in anyone’s standard. Congratulations, and my heartfelt gratitude to all who made this possible. as well as to the future torchbearers who would like to see Lotus Golf Club achieve greater strides in the future. Dilip Chhiba The Lotus Golf Club has had a tremendous journey from the days when access to golf clubs wasn’t easy. The founding members had a vision of building a club and making the sport accessible to the community. Members through their knowledge, experience and drive, strove in their efforts which resulted in the club achieving over 120 members at one stage. With the evolution of the golf game, plenty courses to play and the disparate distribution of the community and Lotus Club members, the club has progressively become a closer-knit family of players. This year the club celebrates its silver anniversary, and I wish to take this opportunity to wish Lotus members a successful 30 th anniversary tournament and great golfing for the future.
