The committee notes the conclusions of the Auditor-General on the annual financial statements. Auditor-General’s report The Auditor-General acted as external auditors throughout the year. The committee reviewed the AGSA’s scope and work plan to ensure that key risk areas of the department were being addressed during the audit process. We have reviewed the department’s implementation plan for audit issues raised in the previous year, and we were not satisfied that the matters have been adequately resolved, especially on the following: • ·compliance with laws and regulations • ·consequence management. The Auditor-General’s report was reviewed and the Audit Committee noted with concern that the department has received a... opinion in the financial year 2019/20. The qualification emanated from the previously reported findings The Audit Committee concurs and accepts the conclusions of the Auditor-General on the annual financial statements, and is of the opinion that the audited annual financial statements be accepted and read together with the report of the Auditor-General.
