The vacancy rate of the Department was at 16% as at end of March 2025. Attraction and retention of built professionals remains a challenge and undermines efforts to increase capacity through the bursary and internship programmes. Capacity in the built sector remains a challenge and competition for skilled personnel remains fierce, both within the public sector and with the private sector. It is critical that the Department foster partnerships with statutory bodies and academic institutions to attract potential resources. 2.2 Service Delivery Improvement Plan The Department has completed the service delivery improvement plan. The tables below highlight the service delivery plan and the achievements to date.
