Revenue from sale of goods and services consist of rental from dwellings, non-res building and parking collection. Compared to prior year revenue on sale of goods and services other than capital assets remained consistent. An increase in sale of capital assets was due to sale of 6 (six) state properties and of which R12 million relates to a property that was illegally sold to a property developer.

The Department has collected R10,8 million in the current year on sale by market establishment due to inability of the tenants to afford rentals. The Department has during the year appointed a debts collector to improve recoverability of old debts and assist with current year collection. Other sales consist of revenue from staff boarding and commission received from Garnishee orders. R1,7 million received from scrap, waste, other goods related to sale of prior year obsolete generators and other technical equipment of which payment was received in the current financial year.
