6. Has the department introduced measures to protect HIV-positive employees or those perceived to be HIV-positive from discrimination? If so, list the key elements of these measures.

• The HIV/AIDS and TB Management • Policy is available to mitigate against stigma and discrimination. • Advocacy sessions are held to discuss to discuss a variety of chronic illness (including HIV/AIDS), human rights issues. • Information on HIV/AIDS is shared as part of employee induction of new employees. • Health screenings including HIV/AIDS by an external service provider (GEMS) is done anonymously. • The Department is in the process of procuring a service provider in support of HIV employees, among others which guarantees privacy, confidentiality and convenience to provide support and management. Voluntary Counselling and Testing is planned and conducted twice a year as part of health screenings. • Health Risk Assessment by GEMS – 137 employees participated in Tshwane, Tulisa Park, Springs, Sedibeng and Westhowen. • Percentage of employees provided with wellness interventions to improve employee performance and wellbeing. • Number of EHWP awareness sessions conducted. • Reduced number of management of communicable and non communicable illness in the Department.
