The Commission for Gender Equality is one of the institution established in terms of Chapter 9 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. In terms of the section 187 of the constitution, the mandate of the CGE is to contribute to strengthen and deepening constitutional democracy in South Africa through promotion, protection, development and attainment of gender equality.
