HOW WE CREATE VALUE

Capital Expenditure: Despite facing numerous challenges associated with a change in the regulatory environment, encroachments and onsite protests, the organisation, through its capital execution department spent R1.4 billion (FY2022: R1.7 billion) achieving 97% of the corporate target for the period.

On the other hand, assets under construction valued at R2.1 billion were put into production during the year (FY2022: R3.5 billion). Key asset classes are Pipelines - R 1.4 billion, pumping and purification - R 0.4 billion and buildings - R0.3 billion. This achievement contributes towards maintaining the organisation’s financial health and operational integrity. The capital expenditure programme for the next five (5) years is set at R35 billion with R3.3 billion already committed on active contracts.
