Cultivate, facilitate and enhance a conducive environment which will allow Gauteng to excel in the creative industry. Host and retain major events through vigorous marketing which will contribute to sustainable economic growth and opportunities. Accelerate transformation of provincial heritage landscape by identifying, preserving, protecting and promotion of provincial heritage resources. Promote multilingualism to redress the past linguistic imbalances or intolerances. Transform and modernise the governance of library and information services through relevant legislation, norms and standards, regulations and by-laws. Modernise libraries in terms of technological transformation. Inculcate the culture of reading in order to enhance knowledge. Collect, preserve the knowledge base and provide access to Gauteng archival records.
